Product Description

Power Steering Pump

Application Summary

Nissan Murano 2021-15

Features & Benefits

  • During the engineering phase, every unit is tested to ensure perfect fit and function on the vehicle.
  • All critical components (cam packs, armature, reservoir, etc.) are tested to match O.E. performance standards.
  • All units are built with 100% new, O.E.-quality O-rings, seals, bearings and gaskets.
  • Shafts and surfaces are machined to precise specifications to eliminate premature wear and extend product life.
  • Weak solder points are 100% reflowed to extend life expectancy.
  • To ensure reliable performance, final assembly is computer-tested to measure pressure, bypass, fluid flow, steering effort, current and noise.

FAQs Yes. Some O.E. manufacturers recommend that power steering fluid be changed at 50,000 miles and continue at that interval. Just like engine oil, power steering fluid will eventually break down and carry suspended contaminants from component wear and breakdown. Follow your vehicle's O.E. manufacturer's recommendations on fluid change intervals.

FAQ_Q1 Why use EHPS pumps over the traditional belt driven power steering pumps?
FAA_A1 Automobile manufacturers are favoring EHPS pumps because they result in better performance and fuel economy. EHPS pumps eliminate the belt and pulley rotational mass that a traditional pump would require.
FAQ_Q2 What does an EHPS pump consist of?
FAA_A2 An EHPS pump consists of an electronic motor and a hydraulic pump. The electronic motor generates the required RPMs for the pump to produce flow and pressure to supply the power steering system.
FAQ_Q3 Can an EHPS pump be serviced?
FAA_A3 Most automobile manufactures do not recommend servicing individual components of an EHPS pump. These pumps are replaced as complete units.
FAQ_Q4 What is needed for an EHPS pump to function?
FAA_A4 Unlike traditional power steering pumps, the EHPS pumps require a 12-volt power supply. Most EHPS pumps will also require communication with an external module.
FAQ_Q5 Can regular power steering fluid be used for EHPS systems?
FAA_A5 No. You must use the correct fluid specified in the O.E. service manual or owner’s manual of the vehicle being serviced.
FAQ_Q6 Where is an EHPS pump usually located?
FAA_A6 An EHPS pump has a different appearance than a traditional power steering pump and is usually mounted on the passenger side behind the front bumper.
FAQ_Q7 Will the power steering fluid need to be flushed?
FAA_A7 Yes. The hydraulic system must be flushed according to the O.E. service intervals. Failure do to so can cause premature damage to the EHPS pump and other power steering components.
FAQ_Q8 Will the system need to be bled after replacing an EHPS pump?
FAA_A8 Yes, a bleeding procedure must be performed, just like a traditional belt-driven power steering system.
