What is Economy Shipping, and how does it differ from Standard (UPS Ground) Shipping?
Economy Shipping is a cost-saving shipping option that delivers within 7-10 days, whereas Standard (UPS Ground) delivers within 3-5 days. Economy Shipping uses USPS or UPS Sure Post, which may result in a slightly longer transit time since the postal service often completes the delivery. Standard Shipping, in contrast, maintains end-to-end UPS handling for quicker delivery. -
Why does Economy Shipping take longer to deliver?
Economy Shipping leverages USPS and UPS Sure Post, which provide cost-efficient routing but can involve additional transit days. These services rely on USPS for the final delivery, adding a few extra days compared to UPS Ground’s direct handling from origin to destination. -
Is there any tracking available with Economy Shipping?
Yes, Economy Shipping offers full tracking. Customers will receive a tracking number upon shipment, allowing them to track their package’s progress online. The tracking may show two carriers, as the package transitions from UPS to USPS, which is normal for this shipping method. -
Is Economy Shipping eligible for expedited processing?
Economy Shipping is not designed for expedited handling due to the USPS component in the delivery process. For faster options, we recommend selecting Standard or Expedited Shipping at checkout. -
Can I choose Economy Shipping for all items?
Most items are eligible for Economy Shipping, but there may be restrictions on large or heavy items that require UPS Ground or freight delivery. Any items ineligible for Economy Shipping will not display this option at checkout. -
Will Economy Shipping impact my return options?
No, Economy Shipping does not affect our return policy. Customers can return items as they would with other shipping options, adhering to our standard return guidelines. -
How can I be sure Economy Shipping will deliver my package safely?
Economy Shipping leverages reputable carriers like USPS and UPS, both of which maintain rigorous safety protocols. Although delivery may take a bit longer, packages are handled with the same care and tracking visibility as our Standard Shipping. -
Is there a price difference between Economy Shipping and Standard Shipping?
Yes, Economy Shipping is typically lower in cost than Standard Shipping. The price savings stem from the more extended delivery timeframe and combined carrier handling. -
What if my package is delayed beyond the 7-10 day delivery estimate?
If a package using Economy Shipping exceeds the 10-day delivery window, customers should contact our Customer Service team. We will investigate the delay with our carrier partners and provide an update or offer support to ensure the package is delivered as soon as possible. -
Can I change from Economy Shipping to Standard Shipping after my order is placed?
Once an order is placed, we are typically unable to modify the shipping method due to immediate processing. However, customers can contact our Customer Service team for assistance, and we will do our best to make any changes if the package has not yet been shipped. -
Are there any restrictions or exclusions for specific regions with Economy Shipping?
Economy Shipping is available for most domestic destinations. However, delivery times may vary for remote or rural areas. Customers in these regions can refer to their tracking information for the most accurate delivery estimates. -
Will I receive my package on the weekend with Economy Shipping?
Economy Shipping through USPS may allow Saturday delivery, depending on the local postal service. However, deliveries are generally expected Monday through Friday. For guaranteed weekend delivery, customers should consider selecting a faster shipping option.
Exceptions
- If you qualify for Free Shipping but your order also contains one or more ineligible items, you will be charged variable shipping fees for those ineligible items only.
- Any single item that is in excess of 40 lbs. or a total package order in excess of 150 lbs. will be ineligible for free economy shipping and is excluded from free shipping offers. These item(s) will be shipped via LTL Freight and/or may include shipping surcharges per UPS published rates.
- Important: When a delivery is made, it is essential to inspect the product for any visible damage before signing the delivery receipt. Follow these best practices to ensure a smooth process in case of a damaged item:
- Inspect Thoroughly: Check all sides of the package and product for any signs of damage, including dents, tears, or cracks.
- Document the Damage: Take clear photos of the damage from multiple angles. Be sure to include photos of both the packaging and the product itself.
- Notify the Carrier: If damage is evident, immediately note it on the delivery receipt. This documentation is crucial for our records.
- Supply Evidence to FIP: Send the photos and a detailed description of the damage to Find It Parts (FIP) as soon as possible. This will help us expedite any claims or assistance you may need.
- Do not sign a delivery notice without inspecting the product for damage. Upon delivery, the carrier may require assistance to unload the product (dock doors, forklift, etc.). If there are any additional charges from the carrier for these services, the customer is fully responsible to accept/pay the charges or you may refuse the shipment.
Shipments to Canada
While most shipments to Canada will be made via UPS NDA or 2nd Day, some shipments might ship via UPS Ground. For ground shipments only - Canada Customs requires Canadian recipients to pay applicable duties and taxes on each shipment entering Canada. These charges may include POST, GST, HST, duties, and other taxes of goods. A brokerage fee may also be charged to process shipments and present the requisite customs paperwork to Canada Customs on the customer’s behalf.
